MIKE JOSE
Black Belt Instructor | Educator | Coach
Mike Jose is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt with almost 18 years of training experience. A lifelong educator and school principal, Mike brings the same passion for teaching, learning, and personal growth from the classroom to the mats.
His goal is simple: create an environment where people can learn high-quality jiu-jitsu, challenge themselves, and become better versions of themselves along the way.
Why I Teach
For me, jiu-jitsu has always been about more than learning how to grapple.
Over almost two decades of training, it has taught me patience, humility, resilience, discipline, and the importance of being a life long learner. These are lessons that extend far beyond the mats.
As an educator, I’ve dedicated my professional life to helping people recognize and reach their potential. Teaching jiu-jitsu is an extension of that same purpose.
I want every student who walks through our doors—whether they are stepping onto the mats for the first time or have trained for years—to feel welcomed, challenged, supported, and confident that they belong here.
Beyond the Mats
I’m a passionate public-school educator and principal, devoted husband, and proud father of four. My experiences as a teacher, school leader, father, and martial artist has shaped my approach to life.
I believe the best instructors don’t simply teach techniques—they create environments where people feel safe enough to learn, challenged enough to grow, and supported enough to keep going.
